Fried Pickles

Method

Fried Pickles

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pickles

Drain the dill pickle slices and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  2. 2

    Set Up the Breading Station

In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. In another bowl, pour the buttermilk.

  3. 3

    Coat the Pickles

Dip each pickle slice into the buttermilk, allowing any excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour-cornmeal mixture, ensuring an even coat.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Pickles

Carefully add the coated pickles in batches to the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Chipotle Aioli

  1. 6

    Mix the Ingredients

In a small mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, lime juice, and minced garlic.

  2. 7

    Season to Taste

Add salt to taste and mix until smooth. Adjust the seasoning if necessary.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve the crispy fried pickles with the chipotle aioli on the side for dipping.
