Salad Base

Method

Prepare the Salad Base

  1. 1

    Prepare Romaine Lettuce

Rinse and dry the Romaine lettuce. Chop it into bite-sized pieces and place in a large salad bowl.

  2. 2

    Add Red Onion

Peel and thinly slice the red onion. Add it to the bowl with the Romaine lettuce.

Make the Homemade Croutons

  1. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 4

    Cube the Bread

Cut the bread into cubes and place in a mixing bowl.

  3. 5

    Season the Bread Cubes

Drizzle the olive oil over the bread cubes, then sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the bread is evenly coated.

  4. 6

    Bake the Croutons

Spread the bread cubes on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, stirring halfway through.

Prepare the Caesar Dressing

  1. 7

    Mix Dressing Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, grated Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 8

    Whisk Dressing

Whisk together until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste if necessary.

Assemble the Salad

  1. 9

    Dress the Salad

Pour the Caesar dressing over the salad base and toss gently until the lettuce and onions are well coated.

  2. 10

    Add Croutons

Once the croutons are ready, add them to the salad and toss again.

  3. 11

    Serve the Salad

Serve immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
