Grinder Assembly

Method

Brisket Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Brisket

In a bowl, mix smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket.

  2. 2

    Cook the Brisket

Place the seasoned brisket in a slow cooker and pour the beef broth over it. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the brisket is tender and easily shredded.

  3. 3

    Shred the Brisket

Once cooked, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded brisket to the slow cooker to keep warm.

Slaw Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Slaw

In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage and carrots.

  2. 5

    Make the Dressing

In a separate small bowl, mix mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  3. 6

    Combine Slaw and Dressing

Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots, and toss until everything is well coated. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.

BBQ Sauce Preparation

  1. 7

    Combine BBQ Sauce Ingredients

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir until the sugar has dissolved and the sauce is heated through.

Grinder Assembly

  1. 8

    Assemble the Grinder

Slice the sandwich rolls in half. On the bottom half, layer a generous amount of shredded brisket, followed by a scoop of slaw, and drizzle with BBQ sauce. Top with the other half of the roll.
