Fries
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them into evenly sized strips.
- 2
Soak the Fries
Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and makes them crispier.
- 3
Preheat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the soaked and drained fries to the hot oil in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 4-5 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- 5
Drain and Season
Use a slotted spoon to remove the fries from the oil and drain them on paper towels. While they are still hot, sprinkle with salt, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, and dried oregano to taste.
- 6
Serve
Serve the seasoned fries hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
