Method
Prepare the Prime Rib

Season the Prime Rib
Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Rub the prime rib with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder evenly across the surface.

Roast the Prime Rib
Place the prime rib on a roasting pan and cook for about 20 minutes. Then reduce the heat to 325°F (163°C) and continue cooking for an additional 1.5 hours for medium-rare, or until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C).

Rest the Meat
Remove the prime rib from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
Make the Au Jus

Combine Ingredients
In a small saucepan, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic cloves, and a sprig of fresh thyme. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.

Let the au jus simmer for about 10-15 minutes to blend the flavors. Strain before serving.

Thinly slice the resting prime rib against the grain.
