Make the Ice Cream Base
In a medium saucepan, combine heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla bean paste, and salt. Heat over medium heat until the mixture is warm and sugar is dissolved.

Chill the Mixture
Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool for about 30 minutes, then cover and refrigerate until completely chilled (at least 4 hours or overnight).
Churning and Filling

Churn the Ice Cream
Once the mixture is chilled, churn it in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

Layer the Ice Cream
Transfer half of the churned ice cream to a loaf pan. Make a well in the center and pour in the Virgil’s Orange Root Beer. Top with remaining ice cream and smooth the top.

Freeze
Cover the pan with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 6 hours or until firm.
