Method

Main Dish

  1. 1

    Prepare the Turkey

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Rinse the turkey under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Season the Turkey

Rub the turkey inside and out with olive oil. Season generously with salt and black pepper. Stuff the cavity with garlic cloves, rosemary, and thyme.

  3. 3

    Roast the Turkey

Place the turkey on a roasting rack in a large roasting pan. Roast in the preheated oven for about 13-15 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Stuffing

  1. 4

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add diced onion and celery, and sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the sautéed vegetables, bread cubes, sage, and chicken broth. Mix well until the bread is moistened.

  3. 6

    Stuff the Turkey

Stuff the turkey cavity with the prepared stuffing before placing it in the oven.

Gravy

  1. 7

    Make Gravy

After removing the turkey from the roasting pan, pour the drippings into a saucepan, leaving behind any burnt bits.

  2. 8

    Thicken the Gravy

Whisk in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually add chicken broth, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and black pepper.
