Method
Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- 2
Making the Batter
- 3
Melt Butter and Chocolate
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the unsalted butter and semi-sweet chocolate. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
- 4
Mix in Sugar
Add the granulated sugar to the melted chocolate mixture and stir until well combined.
- 5
Add Eggs and Vanilla
Add the large eggs, large egg yolks, and vanilla extract to the mixture. Whisk until fully incorporated.
- 6
Add Dry Ingredients
Gently fold in the all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Baking
- 7
Fill Ramekins
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.
- 8
Bake
Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.
- 9
Cool Briefly
Remove the ramekins from the oven and let them cool for 1 minute.
- 10
Invert and Serve
Run a knife around the edges of each cake, then carefully invert them onto individual plates. Serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and fresh berries if desired.
