Method
Prep & Rim
Start by preparing the glass. Run the lime wedge around the rim of a highball or large rocks glass to moisten it.
Pour the coarse salt or Tajín onto a small plate, then press the moistened rim into the salt/Tajín to coat evenly. Set the glass aside.
Build the Cocktail
Shake base ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, add blanco tequila (2 oz), fresh lime juice (1 oz), triple sec (0.5 oz), and simple syrup (0.25 oz) if using. Add a generous scoop of ice (about 1 cup) to the shaker.
Shake
Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch and properly diluted.
Strain & add Red Bull
Fill the rimmed glass with fresh ice. Double-strain the shaken mixture into the prepared glass (over the fresh ice). Slowly top with 4 oz Red Bull Red Edition (Watermelon). Gently stir once or twice with a bar spoon to integrate — avoid vigorous stirring to keep the Red Bull fizzy.
Garnish & Serve
Garnish the drink with a lime wedge on the rim and a small watermelon wedge or thin slice on a cocktail pick. Serve immediately.
Optional adjustments
If you prefer a sweeter drink, increase simple syrup to 0.5 oz. For a stronger tequila presence, increase tequila to 2.5 oz and reduce Red Bull by 1 oz.
