Method
Make the Punch
Combine spirits and juices
In a large pitcher or punch bowl (about 2.5–3 quart capacity), pour the Papa's Pilar Blonde Rum, Papa's Pilar Dark Rum, orange juice and pineapple juice. Stir gently to combine until the mixture is homogenous.
Add grenadine and citrus
Add the grenadine and freshly squeezed lime juice to the bowl. Stir again. Grenadine will give the punch a subtle red hue and sweet pomegranate flavor — if you'd like a stronger color or sweetness, add an extra teaspoon of grenadine or 1 tsp simple syrup.
Adjust sweetness & aromatics
Taste the punch and, if desired, add the simple syrup 1 teaspoon at a time until sweetness is to your preference. If using, add the Angostura bitters (4 dashes) and stir — bitters add depth and balance to the fruit and rum.
Chill & Serve
Chill the punch in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to marry. For immediate service, add the ice to the serving vessel or to individual glasses just before pouring to avoid diluting the blend too much in advance.
Fill each serving glass with 1 cup of ice. Pour the punch over the ice, approximately 10–12 ounces (about 1 1/4 cups) per glass depending on glass size and ice. Garnish each glass with an orange slice, a maraschino cherry, and a mint sprig if desired.
If presenting in a punch bowl for a group, add a large block of ice or ice ring to keep the punch cold without rapidly diluting it. Float orange slices and cherries on top for an attractive presentation. Provide a ladle for guests to serve themselves.
