Cocktail Base
Garnish & Ice
Method
Prepare & Shake
Build the drink
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with cubed ice (about 1 cup). Add 1 oz coconut rum, 1 oz light rum, and 0.5 oz banana liqueur to the shaker. Pour in 2 oz orange juice and 2 oz pineapple juice.
Shake
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker is cold and the juices are well integrated and slightly frothy.
Glass & Finish
Prepare serving glass
Fill a highball or hurricane glass with fresh ice (if not using crushed, fill about three-quarters full).
Strain
Strain the shaken mixture into the prepared glass over the fresh ice.
Top with soda
Gently add 1 oz (a splash) of Sprite (or lemon-lime soda) on top to add effervescence. Do not stir vigorously — leave the layered effect if possible.
Garnish & serve
Garnish with a pineapple wedge and a maraschino cherry on a pick. Optionally add a lime wheel on the rim. Serve immediately with a straw.
