Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

1

Build and shake

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice to chill. Add 2 oz Jarana Blanco Tequila, 0.75 oz blackberry brandy, 0.5 oz banana liqueur, 2 oz pineapple juice, 1.5 oz orange juice and 0.25 oz fresh lime juice (if using) into the shaker. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until well chilled and slightly frothy.

2

Strain into glass

Fill a highball or hurricane glass with fresh ice. Using a fine or standard cocktail strainer, strain the shaken mixture into the glass over the ice.

3

Add grenadine

Slowly pour 0.5 oz grenadine down the inside edge of the glass or over the back of a spoon so it sinks and creates a layered 'sunset' effect at the bottom. Do not stir — the visual gradient is part of the presentation.

Garnish & Serve

4

Thread a blackberry (or place a maraschino cherry) onto a cocktail pick and rest it on the rim. Add an orange wheel to the rim or float it on top. Serve immediately with a straw and an optional small stirrer so the guest can blend the grenadine if they prefer a sweeter, uniform flavor.
