Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Prepare glass

Fill a highball or Collins glass with ice to chill while you mix the drink.

  2. 2

In a cocktail shaker, add 1 cup of ice.

  3. 3

Pour in 2 oz vodka, 1 oz watermelon liqueur, and 3 oz pineapple juice into the shaker.

  4. 4

Add 0.25 oz fresh lime juice if using — this brightens the drink and balances the sweetness.

  5. 5

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 8–10 seconds until well chilled.

  6. 6

Discard the ice from the chilled glass and strain the shaken mixture into the glass over fresh ice (about 3/4 full).

  7. 7

Slowly pour 0.5 oz grenadine down the inside edge of the glass so it sinks and creates a layered sunrise effect.

  8. 8

Top with 2 oz Sprite (or lemon-lime soda) and gently give the drink one short stir to integrate soda without losing the layered look entirely.

Garnish & Serve

  1. 9

Garnish the rim with a watermelon wedge or a pineapple leaf and add a cocktail cherry on a pick if desired.

  2. 10

Serve immediately with a straw and enjoy.
