Cooking Instructions
- 1
Preparation
Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps them cook evenly.
- 2
Seasoning the Steaks
Generously season both sides of the ribeye steaks with salt and black pepper, ensuring an even coating.
- 3
Preheat the Pan
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers. This usually takes about 2-3 minutes.
- 4
Searing the Steaks
Carefully place the seasoned ribeye steaks in the hot skillet. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on the first side without moving them.
- 5
Flipping the Steaks
Once the first side is nicely browned, flip the steaks using tongs. Reduce the heat to medium.
- 6
Adding Garlic and Butter
Add the butter, whole garlic cloves, and rosemary sprigs to the skillet. Tilt the pan slightly and use a spoon to baste the steaks with the melted butter for about 4-5 minutes.
- 7
Checking Doneness
Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. For medium-rare, aim for 130°F (54°C).
- 8
Resting the Steaks
Once the desired doneness is reached, remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.
