Method

Prepare the Prawns

  1. 1

    Cooking the Prawns

In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add salt. Once boiling, add the prawns and cook for about 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the prawns from the pot and plunge them into a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.

  2. 2

    Drain and Marinate

After the prawns have cooled, drain them thoroughly and place them in a bowl. Add lemon juice and toss gently to coat. Set aside to marinate while you prepare the sauce.

Make the Marie Rose Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth and creamy.

  2. 4

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary. You can add more hot sauce for extra spice, or more lemon juice for acidity.

Assemble and Serve

  1. 5

    Prepare Serving Plates

Shred the iceberg lettuce and arrange it on serving plates to create a bed for the prawns.

  2. 6

    Add Prawns and Sauce

Place the marinated prawns on top of the lettuce. Drizzle the Marie Rose sauce generously over the prawns.

  3. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Sprinkle paprika over the top for color and flavor. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
