Salad Base

Method

Prepare the Salad Base

  1. 1

    Wash and Chop Lettuce

Rinse the romaine lettuce under cold water, pat dry with a paper towel, and chop into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Grate Parmesan Cheese

Using a cheese grater, grate the parmesan cheese into a bowl and set aside.

Make the Croutons

  1. 3

    Prepare the Bread

Cut the slices of bread into small cubes.

  2. 4

Toss with Olive Oil and Seasoning

In a bowl, combine the bread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss until evenly coated.

  3. 5

    Bake the Croutons

Spread the seasoned bread cubes on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 10-12 minutes or until golden and crispy. Stir halfway through.

Prepare the Dressing

  1. 6

    Combine Dressing Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.

Assemble the Salad

  1. 7

    Mix the Salad

In a large salad bowl, combine the chopped romaine lettuce, grated Parmesan cheese, and baked croutons.

  2. 8

    Add Dressing

Drizzle the prepared Caesar dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine. Adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if necessary.

  3. 9

    Serve

Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese if desired.
