Kofta Ingredients

Method

Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Make the Kofta

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, salt, black pepper, and cinnamon. Mix well and shape into small meatballs.

  2. 2

    Cook the Kofta

Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides. Remove from pan and set aside.

  3. 3

    Make the Sauce

In the same pan, add tomato puree, water, salt, black pepper, and turmeric. Stir well and bring to a simmer.

  4. 4

    Combine Kofta with Sauce

Return the meatballs to the pan and simmer for about 20 minutes, allowing them to cook through and absorb the flavors of the sauce.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Rice

In a separate pot, bring water to a boil. Add basmati rice and salt. Cook until rice is tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and stir in butter.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the kofta on a bed of the buttery basmati rice, drizzling some sauce over the top.
