Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Okra

Wash the okra thoroughly and trim the ends. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Onions and Garlic

In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent. Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute.

  3. 3

    Add Tomato Paste and Spices

Stir in the tomato paste, turmeric powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes until well combined.

  4. 4

    Incorporate Okra

Add the prepared okra to the pot and stir gently to coat with the mixture.

  5. 5

    Add Water and Lemon Juice

Pour in the water and lemon juice. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil.

  6. 6

    Slow Cook

Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 30-40 minutes until the okra is tender, stirring occasionally.

  7. 7

    Finish and Serve

Once cooked, taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Garnish with freshly chopped herbs before serving.
