Cooking Pasta

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring 4-6 quarts of water to a rolling boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt.

Cook Pasta
Add 12 oz of pasta to boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside. Do not rinse.
Preparing Vegetables

Chop Vegetables
While the pasta is cooking, wash and chop the bell peppers, zucchini, cherry tomatoes, carrot, and broccoli into bite-sized pieces.
Making the Sauce

Sauté Garlic
In a large skillet, heat 4 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add 3 minced garlic cloves and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, ensuring not to burn.

Add Vegetables
Add the chopped bell peppers, zucchini, cherry tomatoes, carrot, and broccoli to the skillet. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still vibrant.

Season the Vegetables
Stir in 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes.
Combining Ingredients

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the sautéed vegetables. Toss to combine everything well.

Add Basil and Cheese
Tear the fresh basil leaves and add to the pasta along with 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese. Toss again until everything is evenly coated.
Serving

Plate and Serve
Serve immediately, garnishing with additional Parmesan cheese and fresh basil if desired.
