Prepare the Coffee
Brew the espresso coffee and let it cool to room temperature.

Mix the Mascarpone
In a mixing bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip until smooth and creamy.

Soak the Ladyfingers
Dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso for about 2 seconds, making sure not to soak them too long. Arrange half of the soaked ladyfingers in a single layer at the bottom of a serving dish.

Layer the Mascarpone Mixture
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of ladyfingers.

Repeat the Layers
Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.

Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

Serve
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings.
