Method

Preparation and Assembly

  1. 1

    Prepare the Crisp Topping

In a mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon. Melt the unsalted butter and mix it into the dry ingredients until crumbly. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Bake the Blackberries

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a baking dish, add the blackberries and sprinkle with a little brown sugar if desired. Evenly distribute the crisp topping over the blackberries.

  3. 3

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the blackberries are bubbly.

  4. 4

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm in bowls, adding a scoop of cinnamon ice cream on top of each blackberry crisp. Sprinkle with a pinch of ground nutmeg for extra flavor.
