In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.

Make the Bread

Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.

Mix Ingredients

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.

Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased loaf pan or shape into a round and place on a baking sheet.

Cover again and let rise for another 30-45 minutes.

Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.

In a small bowl, combine the extra virgin olive oil, rosemary, thyme, garlic, red pepper flakes, and salt. Stir well.

Slice the bread and serve warm with the herb dipping oil.
