Preparation Directions
- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a small bowl, warm the milk to around 110°F. Sprinkle the yeast over the milk and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- 2
Mix the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs. Mix until a dough forms.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Let the Dough Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 5
Prepare the Filling
In a medium bowl, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, brown sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter until smooth.
- 6
Roll Out the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- 7
Add the Filling
Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the rolled-out dough.
- 8
Roll and Slice
Starting from one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Slice the log into 12 equal pieces.
- 9
Let the Rolls Rise
Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- 10
Bake the Rolls
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- 11
Cool and Serve
Allow the rolls to cool slightly before serving them warm.
