Cooking Instructions
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
Place the chicken breasts in a large bowl and pour the buttermilk over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight, to tenderize and flavor the chicken.
- 2
Prepare the Coating
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well to ensure even distribution of the spices.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet or deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small amount of flour into it; if it bubbles, it's ready.
- 4
Coat the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing any excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, making sure to coat it evenly. Shake off any excess flour.
- 5
Fry the Chicken
Carefully place the coated chicken breasts in the hot oil. Fry for about 6-8 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).
- 6
Drain and Serve
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oil and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot.
