Method
For the Rolls
- 1
Activate the Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- 2
Mix the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, melted unsalted butter, milk, and egg. Mix until a dough forms.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
First Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- 5
Shape the Rolls
Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place them in a greased baking dish.
- 6
Second Rise
Cover the shaped rolls with a cloth and let them rise again for about 30 minutes, or until doubled.
- 7
Bake the Rolls
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- 8
Cool the Rolls
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
For the Honey Butter
