Method

Filling Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fruit

If using apples, peel, core, and slice them into thin wedges. If using peaches, peel and slice them into thin wedges. Place the fruit in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix the Filling

Add granulated sugar, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, lemon juice, and cornstarch to the bowl with fruits. Toss gently until the fruit is evenly coated. Set aside to let the juices mix.

Topping Preparation

  1. 3

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  2. 4

    Add Wet Ingredients

Pour in the milk and melted butter into the dry mixture. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 5

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Layer the Cobbler

Spread the fruit filling evenly in the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Spoon the topping mixture over the fruit, spreading it evenly.

  3. 7

    Bake the Cobbler

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling around the edges.

Serving Suggestions

  1. 8

    Serve Warm

Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving. Top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
