Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil until the sugar is dissolved. This will be the marinade for the chicken.
- 2
Marinate the Chicken
Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
- 3
Cook the Chicken
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or pan over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade (reserving the marinade) and add it to the pan. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until the chicken is browned and cooked through.
- 4
Make the Sauce
While the chicken is cooking, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, or until it thickens slightly.
- 5
Serve
Once the chicken is done, remove it from the skillet and slice it into strips. Drizzle the thickened teriyaki sauce over the chicken. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
