Method

Preparing the Shrimp

    Boil the Shrimp

    In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 tsp of salt to the water.

    Cook the Shrimp

    Once the water is boiling, add 1 pound of peeled and deveined large shrimp. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

    Drain and Chill

    Remove the shrimp from boiling water and drain in a colander. Rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside to cool.

Making the Cocktail Sauce

    Combine Ingredients

    In a medium bowl, mix together 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tbs of horseradish, 2 tbs of lemon juice, and 1 tbs of Worcestershire sauce.

    Adjust Flavor

    Add hot sauce to taste, stirring to blend. Adjust the amount of horseradish or lemon juice for desired spiciness and tanginess.

Serving

    Plate the Shrimp

    Arrange the chilled shrimp on a serving platter.

    Add Sauce and Garnish

    Serve with the cocktail sauce on the side. Garnish with lemon wedges and sprinkle chopped parsley on top.
