Marinade
Lamb Skewers
Method
Marinade Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, minced garlic, ground cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, olive oil, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- 2
Marinate the Lamb
Add the lamb cubes to the marinade, ensuring each piece is fully coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
Skewering and Cooking
- 3
Prepare the Skewers
Remove the marinated lamb from the refrigerator. If using wooden skewers, ensure they have been soaked in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.
- 4
Assemble the Skewers
Thread the marinated lamb cubes onto the soaked skewers, alternating with pieces of bell peppers and red onion until all ingredients are used.
- 5
Grill the Skewers
Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the skewers on the grill, cooking for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally until the lamb is browned and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 145°F for medium rare).
- 6
Serve
Remove the skewers from the grill and allow to rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy the hot and spicy lamb skewers with your favorite dipping sauce or side.
