Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Lobster
Using kitchen scissors, cut the top of the lobster shell lengthwise, being careful not to cut the meat. Gently pull the meat out and lay it on top of the shell to create a 'butterfly' effect. Repeat for the second tail.
- 2
Chop the Ingredients
Finely mince the fresh ginger and garlic. Slice the scallions into thin rounds, separating the white parts from the green tops.
- 3
Steam the Broccoli
In a pot with a steaming basket, add water and bring to a boil. Place the broccoli florets in the basket, cover, and steam for about 5 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
Cooking
- 4
Sauté the Aromatics
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the minced ginger, garlic, and the white parts of the scallions. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
- 5
Cook the Lobster
Add the lobster tails to the skillet, meat side down. Season with salt and black pepper. Sauté for about 5-6 minutes on each side until the lobster is opaque and cooked through.
- 6
Finish with Lemon and Green Scallions
Once the lobster is done, drizzle with lemon juice and sprinkle the green tops of the scallions over the dish. Toss gently to combine.
- 7
Serve
Plate the lobster tails alongside the steamed broccoli. Drizzle any remaining sauce from the skillet over the lobster for added flavor.
