Method

Preparation of Filling

  1. 1

    Cook the Beef

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.

  2. 2

    Add Vegetables and Seasoning

Add the grated carrot, minced garlic, chopped basil, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir well and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Assembling the Egg Rolls

  1. 3

    Fill the Wrapper

Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with a corner pointing towards you. Spoon 2-3 tablespoons of the beef mixture into the center of the wrapper.

  2. 4

    Roll the Egg Roll

Fold the corner closest to you over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll away from you to form a tight cylinder. Seal the edge with a little water.

Frying the Egg Rolls

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a deep pan or fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Fry the Egg Rolls

Carefully add the egg rolls to the hot oil, a few at a time, and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
