Steak Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and allow them to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Rub both sides of the steaks with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and rosemary.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Pan

Heat a large cast-iron skillet or grill over high heat until it's very hot, about 5-7 minutes.

  4. 4

    Cook the Steak

Place the seasoned steaks in the hot skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side for medium-rare. Flip the steaks and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes on the other side.

  5. 5

    Check for Doneness

Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. For medium-rare, aim for 130-135°F (54-57°C). Adjust cooking time to your preference.

  6. 6

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your desired doneness, remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for about 5-10 minutes to allow juices to redistribute.

Optional Sides Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare Asparagus

While the steaks are resting, rinse the asparagus under cold water and trim off the woody ends.

  2. 8

    Sauté Asparagus

In the same skillet used for the steak, add butter and minced garlic over medium heat. Add the asparagus and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender and slightly charred.

  3. 9

    Add Lemon

Squeeze the juice of one lemon over the sautéed asparagus and stir to combine.
