Method

Prepare the Dry Rub

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.

Prepare the Steak

  1. 2

    Season the Steak

Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Rub the olive oil over both sides of the steaks.

  2. 3

    Apply the Dry Rub

Generously apply the dry rub mixture to both sides of the steaks, pressing it into the meat to ensure it adheres well. Let the steaks sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate.

Cook the Steak

  1. 4

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill to high heat or a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 5

    Cook the Steaks

Place the ribeye steaks on the hot grill or skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached.

  3. 6

    Rest the Steaks

Remove the steaks from the heat and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.
