Method

Tortilla Chips

1

Cut the Tortillas

Stack the corn tortillas and cut them into triangles or desired shapes.

2

Heat the Oil

In a large frying pan or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.

3

Fry the Chips

Carefully add the tortilla triangles to the hot oil in batches. Fry them for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

4

Drain and Season

Using a slotted spoon, remove the chips from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Immediately sprinkle with salt while still hot.

Salsa

5

Prepare the Vegetables

Dice the fresh tomatoes, red onion, and jalapeño pepper (remove seeds for less heat). Chop the fresh cilantro.

6

Mix the Salsa

In a medium bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, red onion, jalapeño pepper, and chopped cilantro.

7

Add Lime Juice and Season

Pour the lime juice over the vegetable mixture. Add the salt and mix well to combine.

8

Chill the Salsa

Cover the salsa and let it sit for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
