Method

Meatballs

  1. 1

    Prepare Meatball Mixture

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, minced garlic, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form Meatballs

Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Bake Meatballs

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through and browned.

Spaghetti

  1. 4

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 4 quarts of water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the water.

  2. 5

    Cook Spaghetti

Add the spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Sauce

  1. 6

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.

  2. 7

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Bring to a simmer and let cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. 8

    Combine Meatballs

Once the meatballs are done baking, add them to the sauce and stir gently to coat. Let simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plate the Dish

Serve the spaghetti on plates, topped with the meatballs and sauce. Garnish with additional Parmesan cheese and parsley if desired.
