Method

For the Seafood

  1. 1

    Prepare the Breading

In a shallow dish, combine the flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Wet Mixture

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined.

  3. 3

    Bread the Seafood

Dip the shrimp or flounder in the wet mixture, then coat with the breading mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.

  5. 5

    Fry the Seafood

Carefully place the breaded seafood in the hot oil and fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.

  6. 6

    Drain the Seafood

Remove the fried seafood from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

For the Fries

  1. 7

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them into thin fries.

  2. 8

    Heat the Oil

In a separate deep fryer or large pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 9

    Fry the Fries

Add the cut fries to the hot oil and fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  4. 10

    Season the Fries

Sprinkle the fried fries with salt while still hot.

For the Cole Slaw

  1. 11

    Combine the Vegetables

In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and grated carrot.

  2. 12

    Make the Dressing

In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper.

  3. 13

    Toss the Slaw

Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrot mixture, and toss until well coated. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

For the Cocktail Sauce

  1. 14

    Mix the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, horseradish, and lemon juice. Stir until well combined.
