Preparation
- 1
Cook the Rice
Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. In a medium pot, combine 1 cup of rice with 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes or until all water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for an additional 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.
- 2
Prepare the Shrimp and Broccoli
While the rice is cooking, heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, stirring for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and are cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Serve
Serve the shrimp and broccoli stir fry over a bed of the cooked rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired.
