Method

Tuna Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tuna Steaks

Start by patting the tuna steaks dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Tuna

In a bowl, combine olive oil, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Add the tuna steaks to the bowl and turn to coat them in the marinade. Let them sit for at least 15 minutes.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Pan

Heat a non-stick skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add a little olive oil to the pan.

  4. 4

    Sear the Tuna

Once the pan is hot, add the marinated tuna steaks. Sear for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until a crust forms and the center is still pink (medium-rare).

  5. 5

    Add Sesame Seeds

During the last minute of cooking, sprinkle sesame seeds on the tuna steaks and press lightly to adhere.

  6. 6

    Remove from Heat

Once cooked to your liking, remove the tuna from the pan and let it rest for a few minutes.

Garnishing

  1. 7

    Slice the Green Onions

While the tuna is resting, finely chop the green onions to use as a garnish.

  2. 8

    Prepare Lemon Wedges

Cut a lemon into wedges for serving.

  3. 9

    Plate the Dish

Slice the seared tuna steaks into thick slices and arrange them on a plate. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
