Prepare Candied Bacon

Cook the Bacon
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lay the bacon strips on the sheet and bake for 10 minutes.

Add Sugar and Syrup
Remove the bacon from the oven and sprinkle brown sugar evenly over each slice. Drizzle with maple syrup. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until crispy and caramelized.

Cool the Bacon
Once done, let the candied bacon cool on a wire rack.
Make the Burger Patty

Form the Patties
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently and form into 4 equal-sized patties.

Add Cheese
During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with shredded gouda cheese and cover to melt.
Assemble the Burger

Prepare the Vegetables
Slice the tomato and onion and wash the lettuce.

Build the Burger
On the bottom half of each brioche bun, layer lettuce, the cooked beef patty with melted gouda, candied bacon, and top with slices of tomato and onion. Place the top bun on.

Serve with Fries
Serve the burgers with a side of fries.
