Meatballs

Marinara Sauce

Method

Meatballs Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This will ensure the meatballs cook evenly.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix until well combined.

  3. 3

    Form Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. 4

    Drizzle with Olive Oil

Drizzle the meatballs with olive oil to help them brown during baking.

  5. 5

    Bake Meatballs

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are browned and cooked through.

Marinara Sauce Preparation

  1. 6

    Heat Olive Oil

In a large saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.

  2. 7

    Sauté Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the pan and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant.

  3. 8

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Pour in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Stir to combine.

  4. 9

    Simmer Sauce

Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  5. 10

    Finish with Fresh Basil

Stir in the chopped fresh basil just before serving.

Assembly

  1. 11

    Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Once the meatballs are done, add them to the marinara sauce and let them simmer together for an additional 5 minutes.

  2. 12

    Serve

Serve the mini meatballs and marinara warm, garnished with extra basil or Parmesan cheese if desired.
