Pork Chops
Marsala Sauce
Method
Preparing the Pork Chops
- 1
Season the Pork Chops
Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
- 2
Sear the Pork Chops
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork chops and sear them for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set them aside.
Making the Marsala Sauce
- 3
- 4
Add the Wine and Broth
Pour in the Marsala wine and chicken broth, scraping up any brown bits from the bottom of the skillet. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it reduce by half, about 5-7 minutes.
- 5
Finish the Sauce
Stir in the butter, fresh thyme, and heavy cream. Continue to cook for another 2 minutes until the sauce is slightly thickened.
Combining and Serving
- 6
Combine the Pork Chops with Sauce
Return the seared pork chops to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them. Allow them to heat through for about 2 minutes.
- 7
Serve
Serve the Marsala pork chops hot, garnished with extra thyme if desired, alongside your favorite sides.
