Method

Pasta Preparation

1

Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 4 liters of water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the boiling water.

2

Cook Spaghetti

Add 400 grams of spaghetti to the boiling water. Cook for 8-10 minutes, or until al dente. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

3

Drain and Toss

Once cooked, drain the spaghetti in a colander. Return it to the pot, and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Toss to coat evenly.

Marinara Sauce Preparation

4

Sauté Vegetables

In a saucepan over medium heat, add a splash of olive oil. Finely chop 1 medium onion and 4 cloves of garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent.

5

Add Tomatoes and Spices

Add 800 grams of canned tomatoes, 1 tablespoon of basil, 1 tablespoon of oregano, 1 teaspoon of sugar, 0.5 teaspoon of salt, and 0.5 teaspoon of pepper to the saucepan. Stir well.

6

Simmer Sauce

Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.

Assembly

7

Combine Pasta and Sauce

Once the sauce is ready, combine it with the spaghetti in the pot. Stir well to ensure the pasta is evenly coated with the sauce.

8

Plate and Garnish

Serve the pasta on plates, and sprinkle 100 grams of grated Parmesan cheese over each serving. Garnish with fresh basil leaves.
