Method

For the Fried Shrimp

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

Peel and devein the shrimp, then pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Set up Breading Stations

In three separate bowls, place the flour mixed with salt and pepper, the beaten eggs, and the breadcrumbs.

  3. 3

    Bread the Shrimp

Dip each shrimp first into the flour, shaking off excess, then into the egg, and finally into the breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere. Set aside on a plate.

  4. 4

    Fry the Shrimp

In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the shrimp in batches, frying for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and place on paper towels to drain.

For the Marinara Sauce

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat.

  2. 6

    Sauté Garlic

Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  3. 7

    Add Tomatoes and Spices

Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, sugar, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer.

  4. 8

    Simmer the Sauce

Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

For Serving

  1. 9

    Plate the Dish

On a serving plate, arrange the fried shrimp and ladle marinara sauce over the top.

  2. 10

    Garnish

Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
