Cook Pasta

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.

Cook Fettuccine
Add the fettuccine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions, usually 8-10 minutes, until al dente.

Drain and Set Aside
Drain the pasta and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water for later use.
Grill Chicken

Season Chicken
Rub the chicken breasts with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

Slice Chicken
Remove the chicken from the heat, let it rest for a few minutes, and then slice it into strips.
Make Alfredo Sauce

Melt Butter
In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.

Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Add Cream
Pour in the heavy cream, and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir occasionally.

Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth.

Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add some reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
Combine and Serve

Add the cooked fettuccine pasta to the Alfredo sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly.

Serve the pasta on plates, topped with sliced grilled chicken.
