Preparing the Fries
- 1
Cut the Potatoes
Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to make fries.
- 2
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 3
Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- 4
Drain and Season
Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. Season with salt to taste.
Making the Burger Patty
- 5
Mix the Ingredients
In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined.
- 6
Form the Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 3/4 inch thick.
- 7
- 8
Add Cheese
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
Assembling the Burger
- 9
Prepare the Buns
Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- 10
Add the Toppings
On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the grilled patty with melted cheese, sliced tomato, and onion.
- 11
Top it Off
Place the top half of the bun on the assembled ingredients and press down gently.
