Start by rinsing the catfish fillets under cold water and patting them dry with paper towels. Season both sides of the catfish with salt and black pepper. Set aside.

If not already done, peel and devein the shrimp. Rinse them under cold water and pat dry.

Dice the onion and red bell pepper. Halve the cherry tomatoes. Mince the garlic and set aside the fresh basil leaves.
