Pasta
Alfredo Sauce
Method
Cooking Pasta
- 1
Boil Water
In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add 1 tsp of salt to the boiling water.
- 2
Cook Pasta
Add 8 oz of fettuccine pasta to the boiling water. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
- 3
Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside. Reserve a cup of pasta water for later use.
Making Alfredo Sauce
- 4
Melt Butter
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tbsp of unsalted butter.
- 5
Add Garlic
Once the butter is melted, add 3 minced garlic cloves. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- 6
Add Cream
Pour in 1 cup of heavy cream, stirring gently. Bring the mixture to a simmer, allowing it to thicken slightly.
- 7
Add Cheese and Seasoning
Gradually whisk in 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese until fully melted and combined. Season with 1 tsp of black pepper and 1 tsp of grated nutmeg.
- 8
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time to achieve desired creaminess.
- 9
Garnish and Serve
Remove from heat and garnish with 2 tbsp of chopped parsley. Serve immediately.
