Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mushrooms

In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add the sliced mushrooms, salt, and pepper. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms are browned and tender. Remove from heat and set aside.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

In a large bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Divide the beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each.

  3. 3

    Cook the Burgers

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 4 minutes. Place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Burgers

Toast the burger buns if desired. Place the cooked burger patty with melted Swiss cheese on the bottom half of each bun. Top with sautéed mushrooms and finish with the top half of the bun.
