Key West BLT Ingredients

Method

Key West BLT Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all the ingredients and slice the tomato and avocado.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  3. 3

    Cook the Fish or Shrimp

Season the mahi mahi fillets or shrimp with blackening seasoning. In the same skillet, add olive oil and cook the fish for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until cooked through. Shrimp should be cooked until pink and opaque.

  4. 4

    Toast the Bread

In the skillet or toaster, lightly toast the rustic sourdough bread slices until golden brown.

  5. 5

    Assemble the BLT

Spread garlic aioli on one side of each slice of toasted bread. Layer with lettuce, tomato slices, avocado, bacon, and the blackened mahi mahi or shrimp. Top with the other slice of bread.

  6. 6

    Serve

Cut the sandwich in half and serve immediately.
