Make the Ice Cream Base
In a large bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until the sugar is fully dissolved.

Chill the Mixture
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours or until it's completely chilled.

Churn the Ice Cream
Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

Add Flavors
For Cookies & Cream: Gently fold in crushed chocolate sandwich cookies after churning. For Tahitian Vanilla Bean: Scrape the seeds from 1 vanilla bean into the mixture before churning. For Swirl: Alternate layers of the base with chocolate or fruit syrup in a serving container.

Serve immediately for a soft-serve texture or freeze for an additional 30 minutes for a firmer texture.
